Michael Hong led a team of designers in realizing Steve Wynn’s ambitious vision; building a lake lined with Italian villas in the Nevada desert. Inspired by the town of Bellagio on Lake Como, Mike combined elements of classic Italian design with his unique American vernacular to create Bellagio. Immediately following early concept discussions, Mike presented a series of inspired watercolor renderings of Italianate villas on a lake, nailing the look and feel Mr. Wynn had envisioned for the project. These initial renderings served as the inspiration for the project and laid out the framework for this dream destination to take shape.
Featuring 3800 hotel rooms, 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention facilities, and 100,000 square feet of gaming, Michael Hong has succeeded in creating one of the most iconic edifices ever associated with a brand. Perfectly proportioned and exquisitely detailed the majestic Bellagio has become the iconic symbol of Las Vegas.
